This month’s first Member Night was a showcase of creativity and technical skill, with the theme Water, Water, Water providing members with an opportunity to explore one of nature’s most dynamic elements. Water, in all its forms—liquid, solid, and gas—was featured in a wide range of interpretations, from serene landscapes to detailed macro shots. Members didn’t hold back, bringing their unique vision of water to the table through fresh captures and thoughtful archival selections.
The submissions spanned an impressive breadth of approaches. Some members dug deep into their archives, while others made a special effort to create new works specifically for this theme. We saw water in its most tranquil and tempestuous forms—waves crashing, calm reflective ponds, rain-soaked streets, icy landscapes, and even vapor and mist. Water droplets, ripples, frozen scenes, and reflections brought a powerful narrative to each image.
22 members submitted their work, ensuring there was no shortage of images to discuss.
The night ran smoothly with only a few minor technical issues. While most images were automatically included in the slideshow, there was a small hiccup for one member, David, whose images initially refused to display. However, by the end of the night—with only eight members still in attendance—the software finally cooperated, allowing David’s carefully planned work to be appreciated by the remaining members.
The Water, Water, Water theme proved to be a resounding success. It gave members the chance to explore an essential element in all its different forms, from subtle, abstract expressions to bold, dramatic captures. The creativity on display once again highlighted the diversity of talent in our club.
We look forward to seeing what the next challenge will bring and encourage everyone to keep experimenting and pushing the boundaries of their craft.
Thank you to all the members who attended and contributed to another inspiring Member Night!
