At our latest camera club event, members were treated to a spectacular Audio Visual presentation of the renowned Cheltenham International Salon . This prestigious global competition attracted over 4,600 entries from more than 35 countries , showcasing some of the finest photographic talent worldwide. With just 25% of entries accepted, the Salon has established itself as a hallmark of excellence in the world of photography.
The presentation was divided into five distinct sections— Colour, Mono, Creative, Travel, and Nature —each offering a wide range of styles, themes, and visual storytelling. From striking landscapes to evocative portraits and imaginative conceptual work, the salon delivered an awe-inspiring array of imagery.
Not only were we privileged to view amazing work from international photographers, but we were also immensely proud of the contributions from our very own Stroud Camera Club members . Their talent shone brightly among the global entries, with several members receiving special recognition:
- Mick West – A superb mono image, highlighting his upcoming talent.
- Trish Bloodworth – Gold Medal Winner for her creative contribution.
- Annie Blick – Displaying her usual skill and creativity through her captivating image.
- Richard Atkinson – Showcasing classic images that resonated with viewers.
- Leslie Holmes – Achieving both a Gold Medal and a Ribbon , underscoring her incredible eye for detail and composition .
- René Cason – Impressing with a diverse range of photographs.
The event provided not only a celebration of these accomplishments but also an opportunity for our members to be inspired by the high level of skill and creativity on display. It was a fantastic evening that highlighted the true artistry of photography and reinforced the sense of community and passion that exists within our club.
