Our latest member evening at Stroud Camera Club was filled with inspiration and creativity. Following an excellent presentation by Steve Varman a couple of weeks ago, members were challenged to create magazine-worthy images showcasing their interpretation of creative food photography.

The evening kicked off with an introduction to the incredible work of Gourmet Glow, a professional food photographer, whose stunning photography set the tone for the night's theme. Members were also informed that she will be presenting a workshp via Clifton Cameras shortly, so to check their website for futher details. Members were then invited to share their images, with a wide range of approaches on display—from beautifully composed and meticulously crafted flatlays and scenes to quirky and inventive creations. Each member had the opportunity to discuss their approach, techniques, and challenges. Feedback was given generally from within the room. Overall it was clear that food photography is far harder than it appears, and takes a huge amount of time to perfect this genre.

The evening wrapped up with a short, informative video on the top 12 tips for food photography, offering helpful insights to further elevate our skills. It was an enjoyable and inspiring evening that left everyone eager to experiment with new techniques and ideas in food photography.
