Photography enthusiasts gathered in anticipation at Stroud Camera Club as renowned local photographer Jack Boskett delivered his highly anticipated talk, From Railways to Royalty. Jack, celebrated for his ability to capture evocative imagery with precision and creativity, delighted the audience with an evening of stunning visuals and engaging storytelling.
The talk showcased his impressive journey, transitioning from documenting the grit and nostalgia of railways to photographing the regal grandeur of royal engagements. Through his imagery, he demonstrated a unique ability to adapt his craft to vastly different subjects while maintaining his signature style.
Jack’s presentation was infused with entertaining anecdotes from his career, ranging from the challenges of capturing the perfect shot based on slightly dubious briefing notes to humorous insights about the required attire for royal assignments—most notably, a stern warning against wearing brown shoes! He offered valuable advice, emphasizing the importance of preparation, patience, and the ability to adapt on the fly.
