First Open Competition of the Season 2024-2025 Results

The first Open Competition of the season has set a high bar for the year ahead, with a wonderful variety of images entered by both new and long-standing members. Our judge for the evening was Lee Spencer-Fleet from Bristol, who brought insightful critique and encouragement to each entry.

 

The competition featured both a Print section and a Digital section, with a range of themes and techniques on display, showcasing the creativity and talent of our diverse membership.

 

Print Section:

 

- 1st Place: Lion in the Rain by Leslie Holmes 

- 2nd Place: Polar Bear on Ice by Leslie Holmes 

- 3rd Place: The Girl At Tewkesbury Abbey by Jeff Wilson 

 

Additional awards were given to these works:

 

- Highly Commended: Hank by Trish Bloodworth EFIAP, BPE1 

- Commended: That’s My Line by Jesse Cason AFIAP 

- Commended: Lower Fishguard Harbour by Malcolm Marner 

Digital Section:

 

- 1st Place: Stage Security by Annie Blick 

- 2nd Place: Kingfisher About to Stun the Fish by Jesse Cason AFIAP 

- 3rd Place: The Final Sprint by Allan Jeffcutt

The diversity of entries truly reflected the wide-ranging interests and skills of our members, from wildlife and landscape photography to striking portraits and action shots.
