3rd battle win!

Tonight saw our thirds and final local inter-club 'battle' against Cirencester and Cheltenham camera clubs.  This is always a difficult battle for Cirencester and Stroud with Cheltenham having the largest membership and a very strong track record over the years, but with 2 wins under our belt this season we knew we had a great selection of images.  Eddy Lane (a frequent visitor to SCC over the years) judged the competition, starting with the prints.  It soon became clear that he would mark generously over a narrow range of scores but this was applied consistently and fairly.  At the halfway point we held a 3 point lead over Cheltenham CC in 2nd place (Stroud 190, Cheltenham 187 and Cirencester 183) - still all to play for with the DPI images after the break.  The second half continued to see many top scores but with over half of Stroud's images achieving this mark, there was little that Cheltenham or Cirencester could do to catch us.  The end result Stroud 383, Cheltenham 372 and Cirencester 368.  A remarkable result and our first clear win over Cheltenham since 2014 (we finished joint 1st in 2020).  There were some fantastic images from all three clubs.  Top marks were awarded to 11 of Strouds 20 images!!
