Club member sees success at Cobalt Capture a Moment competition
The Cobalt Capture a Moment photo competition runs annually as a challenge to local photographers to literally "capture a moment" with their camera. Each entry is judged by an independent panel, this year it included a good friend of Stroud Camera Club, the respected Cheltenham photographer, Martin Fry. The three judges select 12 entries (all entered anonymously) and these 12 images form a calendar for 2026.
The calendar is then sold to raise funds for Cobalt's charitable work. All proceeds from the competition and the calendar support a specialist cancer nurse for teenagers and young adults in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The selected images are also displayed in an exhibition, and the 12 short listed are then invited to a prize giving event at which the top 3 are selected.
We are very proud to announce that our current Chairman, Mick West is one of the 12 photographers selected this year. Congratulations to Mick and good luck with the final judging next week.
